Prague Day 2

Monday
After a late night, we slept in before heading out to see more of the city. He headed out of the hotel and went up the hill toward the castle, stopping for a traditional Czech pastry. So good! It's a pastry dough mixed with almonds and toffee that's rolled around a metal cylinder to bake over hot coals. So good!
We took the audio tour of the Loretto, a refuge built in the 14 century (?)for those on religious pilgrimages. The church there is ornately decorated in the Baroque style with many interesting details.
Next, we hiked up to the monestary area for a little lunch. We had heard of an excellent brewery there, but found it to be too crowded and left after being offered a table inside. It was just too warm in there, and the smell of hopps was just too much to handle. We stumbled upon a little cafe with a great view of the city, so we stopped in for a beer and a snack. It was so good! A perfect resting spot with really good food.
We then walked down to the Wallenstein gardens, which are located next to the Parliment buildings.
There were peacocks roaming around the gardens and fountains. Also, there was an area with owls.
That night, we took a dinner cruise on the Vltava River. We had a nice table for two in the front of the boat, which was filled with many American and British tourists. There was a jazz band on board, which played for most of the 2.5 hour cruise. The food was so-so, but the views were really pretty.
After we got off the boat, the area reminded us of scenes from the movie, Mission Impossible. Sure enough, that was where the movie had been filmed! We may watch it later.
